SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's tennis team (12-5) swept the Lindenwood University Lions (4-6), 9-0, Saturday afternoon from the Saint Leo Tennis Center. The non-region win is the Lions fourth-straight and 10th shutout of the season.
The Lions breezed through the doubles session, 3-0, before taking six-consecutive matches in singles action to secure the sweep.
The Lions received highlight performances out of their top-flight and No.2 doubles slots as the squad's No.21-ranked doubles team of Matt Nicholson-Lewis and Victor Lozier bounced Eric Tucoulou and Thiago Mastriani, 8-1, and Jacobo Gonzalez-Tarrio and Jose Morales ousted Octavio Costa and William Hale, 8-1.
Gonzlaez-Tarrio then punctuated singles play with a consecutive-set shutout win over Juan Vicenzio, 6-0, 6-0. Saint Leo's No.32-ranked, two-flight competitor of Nicholson-Lewis secured the match with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Guither Schilling.

The Lions will return to action on Thursday, March 29, when they host nationally-ranked Florida Southern in a key Sunshine State Conference showdown. Doubles play is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
