SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo Head Tennis Coach James Bryce has announced the addition of Jacobo Gonzalez-Tarrio to the men's tennis roster. Joining the Lions in January, Jacobo will be immediate member of the Lions' lineup as they enter the 2012 spring championship season.
"Jacobo is going to add more depth to our squad this semester," said Bryce. "I am looking forward to watching him compete and succeed both in the classroom and on the court. He's the only Spanish player on the squad, but will fit in well with other nationalities on the team. He is eager to get to work and help make this another milestone year for the men's team."
Jacobo, a native of Barcelona, Spain, joins the Lions from Escola Avenc University. The incoming freshman ranked as high as 1,821 in the world for and ranked in the top-200 in the Spanish men's rankings.
