W. PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Saint Leo men’s tennis team opened their season on a sour note as they traveled down to South Florida and dropped a 7-2 decision to host Palm Beach Atlantic on Friday afternoon.

The Lions (0-1) saw one win come at No. 2 doubles as Pablo Chavez and Jose Morales pulled out the 8-4 decision over PBA’s duo of Tyler Dealy and John Tilton.

The other win of the day for Saint Leo came at No. 3 singles as Richard MacLachlan defeated Tyler Dealy 6-7 (6-4), 7-5 but it would not be enough.

Saint Leo will stay in South Florida tonight before heading to Miami Shores to face Barry University in Sunshine State Conference competition.  The match is scheduled to get underway at noon.
