Melbourne, Fla. (February 24, 2008) – The Saint Leo men’s tennis team (1-5), fell on the road Sunday afternoon to the Florida Tech Panthers (2-2) by the score of 6-3. 

The Lions jumped on the Panthers early in doubles competition. The duo of Brandon Stacey (Sr., Galesburg, Ill.) and Saif Noorsumar (Sr., Karachi, Pakistan) gave the Lions their first point of the match, as they won by the score of 8-5.

The Lions picked up their other two points in singles competition. The Lions number one, Pablo Chavez (Fr., Maragrita, Venezuela) was impressive in his match as he defeated the Panthers’ top player in two sets (6-2, 6-4). After his doubles match, Stacey used him momentum to defeat the Panthers number two player in straight sets (6-3, 7-5).
