March 24, 2011 | Men's Swimming Cozzi and Walker Earn All-Conference Honors ORLANDO, Fla. – The Saint Leo men’s and women’s swim teams each had a lone representative named to the All-SSC Swim Team it was announced by Sunshine State Conference Commissioner Jay Jones on Thursday afternoon. Maggie Walker, fresh off her NCAA Championships appearance, earned first team honors on the women’s team, while Michael Cozzi earned All-Conference Second Team honors on the men’s side.
March 11, 2011 | Men's Swimming Maggie Walker Competes in the NCAA Swim Championships SAN ANTONIO, Tex. - Saint Leo women's swimmer Maggie Walker and Head Coach Paul Mangen have successfully made it to the NCAA Division II Swim Championships in San Antonio. Walker qualified in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 51.62 which she set while winning the Sunshine State Conference's individual championship in that race last month. Mangen is keeping the Lions abreast of the events surrounding Walker's competition in the NCAA's highest championships.
February 20, 2011 | Men's Swimming Maggie Walker Wins SSC 100 Yard Freestyle Championship ORLANDO, Fla. – Saint Leo freshman swimmer Maggie Walker claimed a Sunshine State Conference individual championship as she claimed victory in the 100 yard freestyle on the final day of the SSC Championships held at the Central Florida YMCA Aquatic Center. It was a day when more individual records would fall as set records would be set.
February 19, 2011 | Men's Swimming Lion Swimmers Look For Final Push in Last Day of SSC Championships ORLANDO, Fla. - The Saint Leo men’s and women’s swim teams saw two records fall as the Lions competed in day three of the Sunshine State Conference Swimming Championships held at the Central Florida YMCA in Orlando. The Saint Leo women are in fourth place with 333 points, just 25 points behind third-place Rollins; and the men leapfrogged the Tars on Saturday with 288 points.
February 18, 2011 | Men's Swimming More Records Fall in Day Two of SSC Championships ORLANDO, Fla. – The Saint Leo swim teams saw a few more records fall as the Lions competed in day two of the Sunshine State Conference Swimming Championships held at the Central Florida YMCA in Orlando. The Saint Leo women have amassed 191 points, good enough to remain in fourth place; while the men tallied 165 points and slipped from fourth to fifth at the conclusion of the second day’s competition.
February 17, 2011 | Men's Swimming Cozzi Opens Championships in Record-Breaking Fashion ORLANDO, Fla. - For the first time in league history, five SSC men’s swimming teams took to the water for the inaugural Sunshine State Conference Swimming Championships. The event is being held at the Central Florida YMCA Aquatic Center Feb. 17-20.
February 17, 2011 | Men's Swimming Inaugural SSC Swimming Championships Kicks Off Today ORLANDO, Fla. - The first ever Sunshine State Conference Swimming Championship is set to take the blocks at the Central Florida YMCA Aquatic Center beginning today, Thursday, February 17. The event will run through Sunday, February 20, with a total of seven sessions slated at the Orlando-based facility.
February 10, 2011 | Men's Swimming Women Join Men in Top-25 Poll SAINT LEO, Fla. – For the first time in four years the Saint Leo women’s swim team has jumped into the top-25 in the latest TYR/CSCAA poll released on Wednesday. The Lions are ranked 23rd in the nation in the poll, released by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America.
January 29, 2011 | Men's Swimming Records Fall in Senior Day Win over Rollins SAINT LEO, Fla. – It was a special day at the Bowman Center Pool as five team records fell in the Lions dual triumphs over visiting Rollins College in Sunshine State Conference action on Senior Day. The men rolled in a 157-105 victory and the women rallied in the final three events to claim a 142-120 win.
