Lions Continue to Excite on Day Three of NCAA Swimming Championships

Weber Earns Ninth in Women's 100 Yard Breaststroke

GENEVA, Ohio – The Saint Leo swim team carried its momentum into day three of the 2014 NCAA DII Swimming Championships, held at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio, picking up more achievements to add to their first two days successes.

Nicole Weber earned a ninth place finish in the women's 100 Yard Breaststroke, claiming the top time in the Consolation Finals with a time of 1:03.13.

Stephanie Martinez participated in the women's 500 Yard Freestyle event, finishing in 5:06.12, good for 27th overall.

The men's relay team of Matheus Assis, Gabe Keown, Patrick Ceddia, and Milton Alberto-Requejo took home 14th in the men's 500 Yard Freestyle Relay, finishing in 6:44.88 to close out the day for the Green and Gold.

The Lions return to action for the final day of the Championship Meet on Saturday, March 15, beginning with preliminary rounds starting at 10:30 a.m.  Assis, Keown, and Alberto-Requejo are set to take part in the men's 100 Yard Free, Weber will swim in the women's 200 Yard Breaststroke, the men will participate in the 400 Yard Free Relay, and Martinez will wrap things up in the women's 1650 Yard Free.
