NORFOLK, Va. – The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has announced the Fall 2013 CSCAA Scholar All-America Teams, supported by Nike. Both the Saint Leo University men's and women's swim teams earned a place on last semester's teams.
The Saint Leo women's team was the fourth best squad, earning a team GPA of 3.54. Lynn University earned the top spot with a 3.71, while Rollins (3.43), Tampa (3.32), and Florida Tech (3.23) also made the list.
For the men, Saint Leo placed tenth overall with a team GPA of 3.26. Tampa led the way for the conference, earning a 3.36. while Rollins (3.32), and Nova Southeastern (3.28) also placed on the team.
The CSCAA Scholar All-America Team award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams who have achieved a team grade-point average of 3.0 of higher. The award is presented twice annually, once in the fall semester and in the winter/spring semester of the NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.
Founded in 1922, the CSCAA is the older professional organization of college coaches in America. The CSCAA is dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming and diving at the collegiate level.
