WINTER PARK, Fla. - Saint Leo sophomore Pawel Trenda has been recognized as the Sunshine State Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week Presented by VALIC.
Trenda collected three NCAA 'B' cut times, two individual and one relay, while finishing first in all four events he competed in Saint Leo's 136.5-124.5 win over Nova Southeastern.
The Oswiecim, Poland native recorded the current top Division II time in the 100-yard butterfly at 48.97 seconds to finish first with an NCAA provisional time. He finished first in the 100-yard backstroke with a second NCAA provisional time of 50.65 seconds. Trenda also finished first in the 100 IM in a time of 51.57 seconds. He was the leadoff leg on the first-place 200-yard medley relay team that recorded an NCAA 'B' cut time at 1:30.42.
The Lions return to the pool deck on Friday, October 25, when they host Florida Southern. Start time against the Mocs is slated for 4:00 p.m. at the Marion Bowman Aquatics Center.
