WINTER PARK, Fla. – Saint Leo junior Milton Alberto-Requejo has been named Sunshine State Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week presented by VALIC, it was announced Monday by SSC Commissioner Jay Jones.
Alberto-Requejo earned two individual victories and a pair of relay wins in the Lions' 165-90 victory at Rollins. Alberto-Requejo turned in the SSC's fastest time of the season in the 50-yard freestyle, touching the wall with a mark of 21.42. He also recorded the fifth-fastest time in the league in the 100 freestyle, winning in 47.23.
The junior also factored in victories in the 200 medley relay (1:37.24) and 800 freestyle relay (7:01.87).
Through three weeks, men's swimming has earned each of the three conference awards, as well as a National Swimmer of the Week nod. Nine Saint Leo student-athletes have been named SSC Player of the Week this fall.
Saint Leo will return to the pool on Saturday, November 17, entertain rival Tampa in an SSC dual meet. The meet is scheduled to get underway at 1:00 p.m. from the Saint Leo Aquatics Center.
