Men Hold onto Fourth, Women Seventh, After Day Two of SCAD Invite
SAVANNAH, Ga. – After day two of the SCAD Invitational, the Saint Leo men's swim team continues to hold onto fourth place with 252 points, while the women dropped to seventh, compiling 96 points after Friday afternoon's final rounds.
The men's "A" relay team of Gabe Keown, Antonio Roki, Chris Canene, and Michael Cozzi earned second place in the men's 200-Yard Freestyle Relay. They foursome teamed up again later in the afternoon in the 400-Yard Medley Relay, coming in at 3:27.49, good for third overall.
Canene earned a top finish in the men's 200-Yard Breaststroke, finishing first with a time of 2:04.67, beating his closest competition by four seconds.
Keown picked up second in the 100-Yard Butterfly event, touching at 51.78, and also earned a third place finish in the 50-Yard Free, coming in at 21.72.. Other notable swims throughout the afternoon go to Cozzi, who touched third in the 200-Yard Freestyle event with a time of 1:43.28.
For the women, junior Sandra Stopczynska came in second in the 200-Yard Breaststroke, finishing with a time of 2:23.85.
