WINTER PARK, Fla. - Saint Leo senior Tim Olson has been recognized as the Sunshine State Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week for the period ending October 30, announced by league officials, Monday.
Olson earned two individual wins and a relay victory in the Lions' 135-68 victory over SSC foe Rollins. The Land O' Lakes, Fla. native placed first with a time of 1:45.26 in the 200-yard freestyle. He also took gold with a mark of 1:58.48 in the 200-yard butterfly. He joined the 400-yard freestyle relay team for a winning time of 3:11.78. In that event, Olson set a new school record with a time of 22.61 in his 100-yard leg of the race. This marks the first Swimmer of the Week recognition for Olson this season.
