Men's Soccer Ranked Fourth in NSCAA South Region Rankings

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Saint Leo men's soccer team, receiving votes in the national poll, are currently ranked fourth in the latest NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division II Men's South Region poll as it was released by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America on Thursday.

The Lions are currently 3-0 on the young season and have overcome adversity to maintain the unblemished record.  Holding a 2-0 lead at halftime and dominating nearly every aspect in their most recent contest against Florida Southern, the Lions saw lightning postpone and ultimately cancel the second half, meaning the game would have to be started over.  Playing the Mocs the following day, the Lions surrendered a one-goal lead at halftime before Saint Leo connected twice in the second 45 minutes to claim the 2-1 regional win.

Prior to the Florida Southern two-day trip, the Lions started the season in Pensacola where they defeated West Florida in the season-opener and Delta State in a neutral site game.

After starting the season with a trio of games on the road, the Lions will finally open their home schedule when they face Palm Beach Atlantic on Saturday.  Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
