Manuel Schoenhuber Selected SSC/Valic Defensive Player of the Week
WINTER PARK, Fla. - Manuel Schoenhuber has been selected Sunshine State Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week presented by VALIC, it was announced Monday by SSC Commissioner Jay Jones.
Guiding the Lions to a 1-1 weekly mark, Schoenhuber allowed just one goal in a pair of conference matches, including a 3-0 shutout against No. 8 Tampa. Schoenhuber made five saves in that contest to give the Spartans their first loss of the season. He then made three saves in a 1-0 setback at Florida Tech.
He is currently 4-2 on the season, posting four shutouts and allowing just two goals in 550 minutes of action.
It is the second time Schoenhuber has earned the distinct conference honor, and the second different Saint Leo student-athlete to receive SSC Player of the Week accolades.
