PENSACOLA, Fla. – Three University of West Florida (5-2-2) goals sent the Saint Leo men's soccer team (5-3-0) to their second consecutive loss, as they fell to the Argos in shutout fashion, 3-0, Saturday evening from the UWF Soccer Complex.
Notching goals for West Florida in the Lions' region road loss were Hector Vega, Will Henderson, and Kyle Sealy.
The Lions faced a relentless Argos' offense over the first 45 minutes, scattering seven shots. However, it was a Vega rebound blast in the 40th-minute that gave West Florida the initial tally.
West Florida solidified the shutout win with a pair of goals in the 53rd and 54th minutes. Henderson put the Argos up 2-0 after collecting a loose ball inside the box and ripping it past the 'keeper.
Sealy capped the scoring for West Florida a minute later as he flicked a header on target from a well struck corner by Henderson.
The Lions lone chance at goal was scooped-up in the first half by Ramon Sealy as he remained unbeaten on the year improving to 3-0-2.
For the Lions, McKenzey Scott was tagged with the loss as he fell to 5-3-0 on the season.
The Lions collected four shots on the evening, while West Florida held a 7-1 department in the corner kick department.
