SAINT LEO, Fla. – Tonight, the No.16-ranked Saint Leo men's soccer team (4-0) will play host to the No.2-ranked Rollins College Tars (3-0) in Sunshine State Conference action.
In one of the most highly anticipated matchups in the south region to date, the Lions look to overcome three-straight 1-0 defeats to the Tars.
Saint Leo last defeated Rollins on September 21, 2007 when the Lions claimed a 7-6, overtime win at the friendly confines.
Defeating Catawba, 4-1, in their last outing, the Lions have compiled a conference-best 17 goals and feature three of the top-five point getters in the league in Edgar Herrera, Aaron Gendreau, and Joel Purkiss.
McKenzey Scott has led the way in between the posts, registering a 4-0 record in over 250 minutes of work.
For the Tars, goalkeeper Keneil Baker highlights a talented Tars' defense which has not conceded a goal in three matches. He has notched 11 saves and sits atop the conference in shutouts.
Offensively, Rollins is led by Nick Sowers and his two goals.
