Saint Leo, Fla. (December 22, 2007) – Saint Leo University men’s soccer players Brandon Whitsett (Jr., Palm Harbor, Fla.) and Jonathan Glenn (Fr., Maloney Gardens, Trinidad) were named to the 2007 NSCAA/adidas All-South Region Team, it was announced recently. Whitsett was a First Team choice, while Glenn was a member of the All-South Region Second Team.
Whitsett earned First Team honors after a junior campaign in which he scored five goals and added a team-high 13 assists for a total of 23 points. Whitsett led the nation with 0.81 assists per game. The midfielder/forward was also tied with Glenn for second on the team with a pair of game-winning goals in 2007.
Glenn, the 2007 Sunshine State Conference Freshman of the Year and a Second Team All-SSC selection, finished his freshman season tied for the team lead with fellow striker Eusebio Montoya (Jr., Smithfield, N.C.), as both scored 14 goals. Glenn added four assists to finish second on the team with 32 points, and played in just 13 matches. The freshman ranked fourth among NCAA Division II players in points per game (2.46) and goals per game (1.08) in 2007.
The Saint Leo men’s soccer team was 9-5-3 in 2007, finishing fifth in the Sunshine State Conference.
