Saint Leo, Fla. (October 20, 2007) – Jonathan Glenn (Fr., Maloney Gardens, Trinidad & Tobago) headed home the game-winning goal with 1.3 seconds remaining in the first overtime period to give the Saint Leo University men’s soccer team (9-4-2, 4-3 SSC) a 2-1 win over visiting Flagler College (2-10-1) on Saturday in a non-conference match.

Glenn finished the afternoon with two goals to match teammate Eusebio Montoya (Jr., Smithfield, N.C.) for the team lead with 14 goals on the season.  His game-winner came with the final seconds ticking off in the first overtime period, as he headed in a corner kick from Leonardo Nogueira (So., Sao Paulo, Brazil).

The Lions broke a scoreless deadlock in the 77th minute when Glenn took a pass from Kyle Kuhlman (Fr., St. Petersburg, Fla.) on the right.  With his back to goal and the defense backing off, Glenn calmly back-heeled the ball into the lower left corner for his 13th goal of the season.

Flagler equalized in the 85th minute when a cross from the left by Boris Kalff was headed in by Sean Gormley.

With time running short in the first overtime period, the Lions were awarded a corner kick.  Nogueira quickly raced to the corner and played the cross into the area and an unmarked Glenn headed down off a defender and into the back of the net for Saint Leo’s fourth overtime win of the season, and the Lions’ second straight.

Saint Leo will close out its 2007 regular season next Friday night with a trip to Miami Shores, Fla. to face Barry University.  The match will begin at 7:00 p.m. and will be broadcast live on the Internet via the Saint Leo Athletics Audiocast Network at
