WINGATE, N.C. - The field has been set for the 2013 Deep South Conference lacrosse tournament, which gets underway Tuesday, April 9. The semifinals will take place Thursday, April 11, with the championship game taking place Sunday, April 14 at Rollins College. The conference tournament features six teams, with three teams coming from the North Division and three from the South Division.
With Saint Leo dropping to Florida Southern on Saturday evening, Tampa earns the regular season conference title and holds onto the top slot in the south, going 6-1 in the regular season. Saint Leo earns the number two seed after finishing 5-2 in conference action. The Lions will host the third-seeded Florida Southern Moccasins on Tuesday, April 9, in a 7 p.m. showdown at University Turf Stadium. The winner will travel to Tampa on Thursday to take on the top-seeded Spartans.
Lenoir-Rhyne is the number one seed in the north, going 5-2 in the DSC. Catawba College is the two seed after going 3-3. Catawba will host third-seeded Wingate University Tuesday night at 7 p.m. The winner will travel to Lenoir-Rhyne on Thursday to take on the top-seeded Bears.
Each division winner from Thursday will travel to Rollins on Sunday for the championship game, which will take place at Barker Family Stadium and Cahall-Sandspur Field.
