Men’s Lacrosse Predicted to Finish Fifth; Proechel Earns Preseason Honors

SAINT LEO, Fla. - The Saint Leo men's lacrosse team has been selected to finish fifth in the Deep South Conference, it was announced Monday by Face-Off Yearbook. In addition, attackman George Proechel was named to the All-DSC Preseason Team.

Predicted to finish in the middle of a nine-team league race, the Lions are looking to rebound from a 6 win, 8 loss season in 2011,  including a 2-4 mark inside the DSC. However, 17 roster additions have put Head Coach Brad Jorgensen and the rest of his squad in prime position to reassert themselves as a force within the conference.

Proechel was the lone Lion to collect preseason honors as his 27 goal, 18 assist season a year ago has put him on the watch list for multiple accolades.

The Saint Leo men's lacrosse team officially kicks off their 2012 spring campaign on Tuesday, February 14, when they play first-year program Florida Tech in Melbourne, Fla.  For the latest news, updates, and information on the Saint Leo men's lacrosse team, visit SaintLeoLions.com.
