SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Florida Southern Moccasins came into University Field and ruined the Lions’ Senior Day as the visiting Mocs handed the Lions a 17-4 defeat in Deep South Conference action on Saturday evening.

After honoring seven Lions’ seniors before the game, few highlights belonged to the Green and Gold as Florida Southern (7-6, 4-2 DSC) held the Lions scoreless in the first half.  Three quick goals halfway through the third quarter had the Lions in the board, but it was too little, too late.

It was a win Saint Leo (5-7, 2-4 DSC) needed so that the Lions could get a first-round bye in the upcoming Deep South Conference tournament.  Instead, the Lions will host a game in the first round for the first time since the tournament went to regional play.

Although seedings have not been released yet, it looks as if the Lions will host Rollins College on Tuesday evening.

Stay tuned to for tournament seedings.
