SAINT LEO, Fla. – The recent deluge that the Saint Leo University area and the entire state has been witness to over the last 48 hours has caused some schedule shuffling amongst a few spring teams.

Women’s tennis, traveling down to south Florida, was forced to push their Friday match with Lynn back to Saturday afternoon, meaning the Lions are forced into doubleheader action with two Sunshine State Conference teams as they face Nova Southeastern at 10:00 a.m. in Ft. Lauderdale and then travel to face Lynn at 3:00 p.m. in Boca Raton.

Baseball’s Friday game with Lynn was moved to Sunday, a move that was made a month ago and unrelated to the current weather.  The Lions will begin their conference series with the Fighting Knights with a doubleheader on Saturday at noon.  Sunday’s single game will get underway at noon as well.  All neutral-site games between Bentley University, American International College and Stonehill College originally slated to be played at Thomas B. Southard Stadium have been canceled.

The lacrosse game between Saint Leo and No. 5 Merrimack has been moved to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday at University Field.  SLU Director of Athletics Fran Reidy and Head Coach Brad Jorgensen will continue assessing the status of the playing surface and the weather forecast throughout the night.  If the field, which is extremely waterlogged with ankle-deep water in many spots, does not drain quickly and respond well to a sunny and windy Saturday, the game may be canceled.
