Del Buono had solid sophomore campaign; playing in 12 contests…The specialist posted two shots on the season and tallied a career-best 59 ground balls …From the faceoff circle, the sophomore won 140 match-ups out of 221 opportunities to lead the team…In a pair of games against Mars Hill (03/27/09 & 04/19/09), Del Buono set a career-high in face offs won with 17 in each contest…He also registered 10 or more face offs in nine contests…He posted two or more ground balls in all but one of their contests including a career-best 10 ground ball effort against Florida Southern (04/04/09)…His outstanding play in the field earned him All-DSC first team accolades and named a member of the All DSC Tournament team.


Del Buono made an immediate impact as a freshman for the Lions, appearing in 14 of 16 games and making one start…The specialist did a tremendous job in the faceoff circle winning 61.7 % (71-for-115) of his match-ups…He scooped up 17 ground balls and forced one turnover…He was named Deep South Conference Player of the Week on March 3, 2008.
