Saint Leo, Fla. (March 26, 2008) – The Saint Leo University lacrosse team (6-5) defeated visiting MIT (1-3) by a score of 14-5 on Wednesday night in a non-conference game played at University Field.

Junior Mark Dargon (Newton, Mass.) scored two goals and added four assists for a total of six points to lead the Lions to the win.  Chris Storrie (Jr., Syracuse, N.Y.) scored three goals in the win, while Kyle Marceau (So., Concord, N.H.) scored twice and added an assist.

The Lions controlled the game from the start, outscoring the visiting Engineers 4-1 in the opening quarter with Dargon contributing two assists in the first.  Gregg Geiss (Fr., Syracuse, N.Y.) also scored a pair of goals in the first 15 minutes.

MIT battled back to make it 5-3 at half-time, as the visitors outscored the Lions 2-1 in the second quarter.  However, the Lions quickly regained control in the third, holding the Engineers scoreless and adding four goals of their own to take a 9-3 advantage into the final quarter.

The Lions carried the momentum into the fourth quarter, as they scored the first five goals, and nine unanswered overall, to take a commanding 14-3 lead.  MIT scored two late goals to provide the final margin.

Saint Leo returns to action next Tuesday, April 1 with the final home game of the 2008 season.  Rollins College will provide the opposition in a Deep South Conference match-up.  The game will begin at 7:00 p.m. and the evening will also mark Senior Night at University Field.
