Saint Leo, Fla. (March 18, 2008) – Kyle Marceau (So., Concord, N.H.) scored four goals and added three assists to lead the Saint Leo University lacrosse team (5-3) to a 14-9 win over visiting Franklin Pierce University (1-2) on Tuesday night at University Field.

Joe Guerin (So., Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) also scored three goals in the win, while Mark Dargon (Jr., Newton, Mass.) scored two goals and tallied two assists.  Freshman Evan Mills (Fr., Wesley Chapel, Fla.) added one goal and added two assists.

Marceau got the scoring started with 9:57 left in the first quarter, but the visiting Ravens quickly tied things up just over two minutes later.  The Lions regained their advantage when Chris Storrie (Jr., Syracuse, N.Y.) scored his team-leading 18th goal of the season.

Ryan Pomponio (Jr., Garden City, N.Y.) got the scoring started just 1:14 into the second quarter to give the Lions another two-goal cushion.  However, Franklin Pierce tied the score with a pair of goals in just over a minute.  The Lions responded with four unanswered goals to stretch the lead to 7-3, but Pierce scored the final goal of the half to make it 7-4.

The Ravens carried the momentum into the second half, as they scored the opening four goals of the third quarter and took their first lead of the game.  Saint Leo took over from there, outscoring the visiting team 7-1, including three of Marceau’s four goals.

Saint Leo continues its busiest week of the season with a quick turnaround for a game Thursday night versus Dominican College.  The game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at University Field.
