Saint Leo, Fla. (December 12, 2007) – Saint Leo University head lacrosse coach Brad Jorgensen has announced the signings of Jake McGuinness and Joseph Anderson during the NCAA’s early signing period.  McGuinness, a midfield player, hails from Barnstable, Mass. while Anderson is an attackman from Bellmore, N.Y.

McGuinness has totaled 81 points in three seasons at Barnstable High School.  He was a 2007 Maritime League Sportsmanship Award winner and an All-Star.  In addition, McGuinness was 2007 All-Cape and Islands All-Star.  His impressive resume also includes his selection to participate in the Peak 200 Lacrosse Camp.

Anderson was an All-County selection as a junior, scoring 60 points for Wellington C. Mepham High School.  He added 51 points as a sophomore and was also recognized as an All-County wrestler.  Both Anderson and McGuinness will join the Lions in the 2008-2009 school year.

The Saint Leo lacrosse team will open the third season in program history on Saturday, February 16, 2008 when the Lions host Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) at 7:00 p.m.
