Men’s Golf honored by GCAA as All-Academic Team

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's golf team earned All-Academic team honors from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) when the organization released their Academic team awards on Tuesday, July 19.

The Lions were one of five Sunshine State Conference (SSC) teams to be honored as well as one of 41 Division II teams to earn All-Academic Team.

The squad owns a 3.31 team GPA, the highest in men's sports at Saint Leo, where ten golfers, Casey Bannon, Alberto Castagnara, Marcus Crowe, Riley Goss, Ryan Gendron, James Jessop, Simon Knutsson, Nilo Sanchez, C.J. Tyler and Colin Warren, were named to the SSC Commissioner's Spring Honor Roll.

To be eligible for GCAA All-Academic Team honors a college or university must submit the GPAs for each player on its official squad list for the academic year. The All-Academic Teams were those with 3.0 or better GPAs and those with a 3.5 or better, earned President's Special Recognition.
