SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo senior Ryan Gendron and junior Riley Goss will compete at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail 'The Shoals' in Muscle Shoals, Ala. May 8-10 at the 2017 NCAA South/Southeast Regional. Gendron is making his fourth straight regional appearance while Goss is competing in his first regional.

Gendron, who was named a semifinalist for the Jack Nicklaus Division II National Player of the Year, has finished inside the top 25 at his previous three regionals. As a freshman, Gendron shined to light when he took second at regionals with a 211 total. Gendron opened up with a one-under 71 before back-to-back rounds of two-under 70's closed the tournament. Following the tournament, Gendron went on to play at the National Championships.

In 2015 as a sophomore, Gendron finished tied for 14th with a 212 after a two-over 74 round one. Gendron closed out with a two-under 70 and a four-under 68 to end his second regional appearance.

Gendron has finished in the top 10 in four tournaments with a top five finish on the 2017 season. His low round of the season was a 67 (-5) at the Matlock Collegiate Classic during the final round. While at the Sunshine State Conference Championships, Gendron tied for 14th with a 217 (+1) with rounds of 77-70-70.

Goss tied for seventh after shooting a 215 (-1) with rounds of 69-74-72 at the Duran Golf Club.

At a minimum, the top three teams and the top two individuals, not on an advancing team from each regional, will advance to the finals May 22-26 at Reunion Resort in Kissimmee, Fla. The remaining eight spots will be allocated based on the regions represented in the prior year's medal-match portion of the championships, with the maximum number of teams for a given region capped at seven. The finals will be hosted by the Sunshine State Conference and the Central Florida Sports Commission.
