Men’s Golf 11th after two rounds of the Bobcat Invite Monday

EATONTON, Ga. – Saint Leo men's golf concluded the first two rounds of the Bobcat Invitational at Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee Monday, March 20. The Lions shot a two-round total of 606 (+46) on the par-70, 6,730-yard course.

The Lions shot a 304 to open the tournament before a second round 302 where three of the five golfers turned in lower round two scores than round one.

Ryan Gendron, who dropped six strokes between the two rounds, leads the Lions after rounds of 75 and 69. Gendron was tied for 19th after the first round before his one-under 69 shot him to fifth place heading into the upcoming final round with a 144 (+4).

CJ Tyler turned in the best card from the first round to lead the pack heading into the second round. Tyler finished the day at 151 (+11) after rounds of 73 and 78, respectively.

Casey Bannon was consistent during the first two rounds as he fired off a 77 in round one and a 78 in round two for his 155 (+15) total. Bannon finished the first day tied for 54th heading to day two.

Shaving two strokes off his score between the first and second rounds, Riley Goss is tied for 59th after two rounds at the Bobcat Invitational. Goss opened the day with a 79 before turning in a round two 77 score to make up his 156 (+16).

Simon Knutsson rounded out the five golfers as he tied for 82nd after two rounds with a 161 (+21). Knutsson shot rounds of 82 and 79, respectively.

Lynn leads the team leaderboard by six strokes over West Florida, where the Fighting Knights turned in a two-round total of 580 (+20). Manuel Torres of Lynn leads by one stroke over the Argonauts' Chandler Blanchet 140 (E) to 141 (+1), respectively. 

Saint Leo and the 17 team field will return to the course Tuesday for the third and final round of the Bobcat Invitational.
