Men’s golf finishes ninth at Panther Invitational

MELBOURNE, Fla. – Saint Leo men's golf shot a third round 304 (+16) to finish in ninth out of 15 teams Tuesday at the Panther Invitational held at the Duran Golf Club with a three-round total 918 (+54).

Ryan Gendron paced the Lions as he tied for ninth with a 223 (+7) after a third round two-over 74 to add to his first round 74 and his second round 75.

Colby Tyler finished second on the team as he tied for 40th with a 232 (+16). Tyler shot an 81 for the final round after a first round 76 and a second round 75.

Simon Knutsson and Riley Goss were close behind Tyler as they tied for 48th at 234 (+18). Knutsson shot an 81 Tuesday to close the tournament after Monday's 77 and 76 scores. Goss fired off a final round 73 to add to his first two round scores of 79 and 82.

James Jessop rounded out the five golfers as he tied for 67th after a final round 67 brought his three-round score to 241 (+25). Jessop reached the 70's for the first time at the Invitational after an 82 and 83 Monday.

Playing as an individual, Nilo Sanchez tied for 61st with a 239 (+23) three-round total. Sanchez shot a final round 77 after a 79 and 83 on Monday.

The Lions return to action March 12-14 when they travel to Valdosta, Georgia to take part in the Southeastern Intercollegiate at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.
