Four Saint Leo golfers finish the championships in the top 15
SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo University men's golf team shot a three-round total of 863 (284-285-294) and finished second in the 2014 Sunshine State Conference Gold Championships held at Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club in Dade City, Fla.
The Lions, who shot a 294 in the final round on Tuesday, finished eight strokes ahead of third place Lynn University.
Barry University took the team title with a three-day total of 845 (282-277-286).
Leading Saint Leo was Joey Savoie who shot a three-round total of 211 (72-69-70) which was good enough for second place, two strokes behind the men's individual champion Adam Svensson, of Barry, who shot a three-day total of 209.
Saint Leo will now wait on an invitation to the NCAA South/Southeast Regional, May 5-7, at the Savannah Quarters Golf and Country Club in Savannah, Ga.
