WINTER PARK, Fla. – After an outstanding first-place performance at the Southeastern Intercollegiate, Saint Leo freshman Ryan Gendron was named the Sunshine State Conference Men's Golfer of the Week presented by VALIC.
Gendron captured his first individual tournament title finishing under par in every round to finish six strokes under par with a score of 210 at the Southeastern Intercollegiat tournament in Valdosta, Georgia. He shot scores of 71-70-69 in each of the three rounds, respectively.
The freshman from Tampa, Fla. led his team to a finish of 5th place, behind four of the top-25 teams, including No. 1 Barry (1) , No. 2 Lynn (2) , No. 9 Armstrong (3), and in front of No. 13 Flagler (6), No. 12 North Alabama (7), No. 20 Georgia College and State (8) No. 11 Columbus State (10), No. 19 Florida Tech (11), No. 15 Florida Southern (12), and No. 6 West Florida (14).
The Lions return to action on Monday and Tuesday when they participate in the Panther Invitational in Melbourne, Fla. hosted by Florida Tech.
