KIAWAH ISLAND, SC – The Saint Leo University men's golf team, led by Trevor Joseph's fourth-place finish, carded a two-round 597 to finish 10th at the Kiawah Island Invitational on Tuesday.
Playing the final round at the course on the Cougar Point Golf Club, Joseph led the Lions for the entire 36 hole tournament. He finished in a five-way tie for fourth place with a 71-72--143.
Chaz Heinz shot 72-77--149 to tie for 26th, while Austin Gray finish just behind his teammate in 30th with a 75-75--150. Newcomers Joey Savoie finished tied for 59th with a 76-79-155 and Casey Bannon finished 83.
The course played noticeably tougher in Tuesday's round, as only one team in the 17-school field improved on their score from Monday to Tuesday. North Alabama caught and passed a faltering Armstrong Atlantic to claim the team title.
The Lions return to the golf course when they travel to Columbus, Ga. to participate in the Cougar Invitational hosted by Columbus State on September 30 and October 1.
