Brothers Opens NCAA Play with First Round of 73

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla.— In the opening round of the NCAA South Region on Monday afternoon, Nick Brothers fired a one over par 73 to place himself tied for 19th overall among individuals in the tournament.

Brothers shot a 37 on the front nine and a 36 on the back, when he birdied the 18th hole to finish off his round with a 73.

Leading all individuals through 18 holes is Ricardo Celia of Nova Southeastern—who shot a three-under 69 today in the opening round.

Barry is leading the team competition entering the second round tomorrow with a four-under 284, and leads second place Nova Southeastern by three strokes and third place Lynn by four strokes.

The top two participants who are not competing with a team who finish in the top three of the tournament will advance to the national tournament in Hershey, Pa.
