MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's golf team kicked off the 2011-12 championship portion of their schedule with a fourth-place finish, posting a 28-over-588 on Tuesday at the Titan Winter Invitational hosted by Brevard Community College and held at the Sun Tree Country Club.
The tournament's final round saw junior Justin Foster race to the top of the team leaderboard as he finished with an even-par-72 and posted a three-day 73-73-72—218 to finish fourth individually. Sophomore Chaz Heintz's 2-over-74 had him second on the team with a 73-74-74—221.
Junior Nick Brothers dropped to third on the team after a final-round 80 as he finished 73-70-80—223.
The final counting card for the Lions came from junior Ronnie Carlson, who posted a consistent 76-76-78—230. Rounding out the Lions' lineup is sophomore Terry O'Reilly who posted a 52-hole 80-79-80—239.
The Lions finished behind Webber International, who jumped into third, and second-place Florida Tech as well as tournament champion, and host Brevard Community College.
