Former Lion Earns Pro Tour Victory

Una, Brazil – Former Saint Leo men's golf JP Albuquerque earned his first CGB Pro Tour victory last weekend at the par-72 Ilha de Comandatuba Ocean Course. The tour rookie, competing in just his second event, fired an eight-under 208 over three rounds to cruise to a six-stroke win over São Paulo's Ronaldo Francisco.

Albuquerque, who represented Saint Leo men's golf as a NCAA National Championship participant in 2009-10, claimed victory to the tour's second-ever event. He now aims to the tour's next stop in Rio de Janeiro on September 15-17 with qualifying to the 2011 Brazilian Open on the line.
