SAINT LEO, Fla. - A youthful Saint Leo men's golf team saw three freshman, a sophomore, and one senior take to the course for the majority of the season. While the group did encounter growing pains throughout the year, the quintet began to show signs of life at the end, heading into next season. The Lions wrapped-up the Sunshine State Conference Tournament with a fifth-place finish, providing a boost of confidence as the team aims for the fall to hit the course once again.
BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Saint Leo men’s golf team (293-299-304—896) maintained its first day, fifth-place position as it closed the 2011 Sunshine State Conference Championships with its best finish of the 2010-11 season. Carding a third round 16-over 302, the Lions secured their spot with a final score of 32-over 896, Tuesday afternoon at the par-72, 6714 yard Boca Country Club.
