SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo men’s golf team, coming off a superb finish to the 2010 campaign which saw them receive their first team bid to an NCAA Regional in team history, concluded the year ranked in the top-20 in a pair of national rankings. The Lions cracked the Golf World/Nike Golf men’s coaches’ poll for the first time all season, ending the year at No. 19. Also, the Lions remained in the top-25 of the latest Golf Stat release, jumping six spots to conclude the year at No. 15. 

Furthermore, according to GolfStat, the Lions NCAA Nationals participant, JP Albuquerque, is ranked eighth in all of division II in par-three scoring at 3.09. Meanwhile, the Londrina, Brazil native is ranked the 54th-best golfer in division two, holding an 18-8 overall record against top-100 competition. Freshman Nick Brothers (102) and graduated senior Mark McGuire (149) join him on the list, combining for 10 victories over the top-100.

With the groundwork to success now laid, the Lions will begin training for even further success in the upcoming 2010-11 season.
