FT. PIERCE, Fla.- Posting a second round team score of 287, the Saint Leo men’s golf team continues to lead (279-287—566) at the Treasure Coast Classic, hosted by St. John’s University. The Lions two-under-par 566 is three shots better than Laval University on the par-71, 6,555 Yard Indian Hills Golf Course.
The 287 was the second highest team score of the day and was just eight strokes off of their first round masterpiece of 279.
Nick Brothers battled the elements to maintain a stranglehold on the second place position. He shot a second round, one-under-par 70 to bring his two day total to four-under-par 138 (68-70—138). Senior Cole Cisbani was also solid on day two of the tournament, shooting an even-par 71. He currently stands eighth in the tournament, with a one-under-par 141 (70-71—141).
Tom Lynn sits in a tie for 11th as he concluded the day with a two-over-par 73 and JP Albuquerque also ranks in the top-15, closing day two with a two-over-par 73.
Ricky Briggs rounded-out the Lions’ day with a five-over-par 76. His two day total (71-76—147) of 147 has put him in a tie for 23rd-place.
After SLU and Laval, Western Illinois punctuated the top-three with a team score of 289. Embry-Riddle and SSC foe Tampa round-out the top-five.
Western Illinois’ Kyle Peterman continues to be the individual leader with a five-under-par 137 (67-70—137).
