Saint Leo, Fla. (September 16, 2007) - Former Saint Leo men’s golfer Jacob Halligan (Taylor Mill, Ky.) has been recognized as a 2007 GCAA Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar for the 2007 season.

Halligan, who graduated from Saint Leo in May, played in all 10 tournaments for the Lions as a senior, posting a scoring average of 75.5.  He had his top finish of the year at the Thomas University Winter Invitational where he finished second overall with a two-day total of 1-under-par 143 (68-75).  His first round score of 68 (-4) was a career-low for 18 holes and he earned Sunshine State Conference Men's Golfer of the Week.

In total, Halligan posted a pair of top-5 finishes and four top-10 finishes as a senior.  During his career with the Lions, Halligan had a scoring average of 77.6.

Halligan was one of only three players from the Sunshine State Conference to be recognized as an All-America Scholar by the Golf Coaches Association of America (Greg Gonzales-Lynn, Juan Weissenberg-Barry).
