Dewberry named to NABC First Team All-South District

SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo junior Marcus Dewberry was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches 2016 Coaches' Division II First Team All-South District, announced Tuesday, March 22nd.

Dewberry adds this accolade to his list after earning First Team All-SSC and All-SSC tournament team, while also adding NCAA Division II Conference Commissioners Association South Region First Team honors as well.

On the year, Dewberry was named SSC Player of the Week four times and one U.S. Basketball Writers Associations Division II National Player of the Week honor. Dewberry recorded one triple-double and three double-doubles on the year after scoring 611 total points on the season.

He reached the 30+ points plateau on five occasions while he led the Lions in scoring in nine games, assists 21 times and steals 16 times. Dewberry finished the year off with a 19.7-points per game average while he had a 5.5 rebounds per game and a 4.7 assists per game averages.

Dewberry led the Lions to a 19-12 record and a 10-6 mark in the Sunshine State Conference.
