Dewberry snags fourth SSC Player of the Week award

SAINT LEO, Fla. – For the fourth time this season, junior guard Marcus Dewberry was named Sunshine State Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for his offensive performances over the games from Feb. 15-21.

Over the week he averaged 30 points, shooting a combined 50-percent from three on nine of 18 shooting, grabbing 9.0 rebounds per game, and dishing out 7.5 assists.

In the win against Florida Tech (96-84), Dewberry recorded his first career triple-double with 27 points, 10 assists, and 10 rebounds.  The mark looks to be the first in Saint Leo history, as far back as the NCAA records can find. The Lake Wales, Florida native also had two steals in the victory.

Dewberry, for the fifth time this season scored more than 30 points in a game as he scored 33, recorded eight rebounds, five steals and three assists while shooting 50-percent from the field and 100-percent at the line in the 97-84 victory at Palm Beach Atlantic. Saint Leo is 17-9 on the season, 9-5 in SSC play.
