Dewberry Earns Third SSC Offensive Player of the Week Honor

SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo men's basketball junior Marcus Dewberry earned his third Sunshine State Conference Offensive Player of the Week honor after leading the Lions in two victories over #10/11 Eckerd and at Florida Southern last week.

Dewberry averaged 28.5-points per game, 5.5 assists and five rebounds. He recorded three steals at Florida Southern.

Over the week, Dewberry went 15-for-16 from the free throw line and hit 54.2-percent from the field. He recorded 10 total rebounds on the week and dished out 11 assists with three steals. He connected on 13 shots from the field, tying his season-high.

His career high 35 points came in the Lions 89-86 win at Florida Southern on Saturday night, as Saint Leo rallied back from being down by as many as 12 late in the second half. Dewberry notched 10 points in the first half before going for 25 in the second on 9-for-14 from the field and 6-of-6 from the free throw line.

In the Lions 11th home win of the season, Dewberry scored 22 points to lead the team to an 87-84 victory over No. 10/11 Eckerd.

This is Dewberry's third honor of the season, and his career.
