Jerrel Harris Continues to Rack up Honors

Named to the All-South Region Tourney and the NABC Division II All-District Teams 

SAINT LEO, Fla.Jerrel Harris' collegiate playing career may have come to a close last weekend, but the Saint Leo University men's basketball standout continues to rack up awards following his stellar season. 

The 5-10 senior point guard from Milwaukee earned two honors on Wednesday being named to the NCAA Tournament All-South Region team and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District team. 

During the two-game NCAA South Regional, Harris averaged 22.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and three assists per game in32.5 minutes of action. He also shot 44 percent (11-25) from the field a stellar 91.3 percent (21-23) from the charity stripe. 

Harris helped the Lions to a 75-67 opening round win over West Alabama scoring 23 points, grabbing three rebounds and dishing out three assists in the first round. In Saint Leo's 61-53 loss to Delta State in the regional semifinal, Harris had 22 points, pulled down four rebounds and handed out four assists.

On the year, Harris averaged a team-best 19.5 points per game, while also logging 3.6 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per outing. 

Harris was named a first-team All-Sunshine State Conference (SSC) selection and was also named to the SSC All-Tournament Team. He helped lead the Lions to a school record 24 wins (24-9) and the No. 2 seed in last weekend's NCAA South Regional. He scored in double figures in 29 games, including tallying 17 games of 20 or more points. Earlier this season, Harris poured in a career-high 41 points in an 84-81 win over Barry.
