Harris Earns SSC Men's Basketball Player of the Week Honor

WINTER PARK, Fla. - Saint Leo senior Jerrel Harris has been recognized as the Sunshine State Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week Presented by VALIC for the period ending November 24.

The Lions' senior guard continues to pile up the points after recording three 20-plus point performances, including 31 points against Virginia Union, last week. Harris now has five 20-plus point performances and two 30-plus point performances in just eight games. He recorded 24 points and nine rebounds to open the week in a 76-65 win over Flagler.

The Milwaukee, Wisc. native scored half of the Lions' points in a 68-62 setback against Virginia Union with 31 points, while also recording five steals. Harris then led Saint Leo to an 84-80 upset victory over No. 18 South Carolina-Aiken with 21 points. He finished the week averaging 25.3 points per game.

Harris and the Lions now turn their attention toward a Thanksgiving-week matchup with Elizabeth City State, who visits the Bowman Center on Tuesday.  The Lions will tip off with the Vikings at 7:30 p.m.
