Ruh Named to NABC All-District First Team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced today the 2013 NABC Coaches' Division II All-District teams as Saint Leo University senior guard Marcus Ruh found himself on the First Team in the South Region.

Helping the Lions to a second-straight NCAA Tournament appearance and a Sunshine State Conference Title, Ruh was named the season's Conference Player of the Year after averaging 16.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.0 steals per game as he shot 46 percent from the field, a similar 46 percent from the 3-point line and 80 percent from the free throw line.

Transferring to Saint Leo prior to his junior season, the Green Bay, Wis., native has racked up an impressive list of awards, including the highest academic honor a men's basketball player can receive as he was named the 2013 Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-America of the Year.  In addition to this All-District award, Ruh is also a Daktronics All-Region honoree, a First-Team All-SSC selection, the 2011-12 Saint Leo Scholar-Athlete of the Year and a member of the Conference's All-Newcomer Team a season ago.

The NABC All-District Team recognizes the best men's collegiate basketball student-athletes and coaches in the division. Selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC in NCAA Division II, these student-athletes represent the finest basketball players across America. The 89 student-athletes, from eight districts, are now eligible for the NABC Coaches' Division II All-America teams, selected by the NABC.
