Ruh Earns Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week Award

WINTER PARK, Fla. - Saint Leo senior guard Marcus Ruh has been tabbed Sunshine State Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week presented by VALIC.

Ruh led the No. 14 Lions to a 76-62 win over Tuskegee. The native of Green Bay, Wis. tallied 23 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and a steal. He connected on 64 percent (9-of-14) of his field goal attempts and drained 3-of-5 (60 percent) three-point attempts. The senior sank 2-of-3 free throws.

It is the first time Ruh has earned the weekly honor in 2012-13 and the second time in his Saint Leo career with his first coming February 20, 2012. He is the 12th Saint Leo student-athlete to receive SSC Player of the Week accolades in 2012-13.

The Lions now prepare for their first travels of the young season when they head to Milwaukee, Wis. to play in the Fresh Coast Classic.  The post-Thanksgiving tournament will see the Lions face the previous year's FCC champion in Lincoln University (Pa.) on Friday, November 23.  All of the tournament's games will be played at Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee.
