Harris tabbed for D2CCA All-South Region honors

SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo redshirt junior Dylan Harris picked up his second All-South Region honor of the post-season late Thursday when he was named to the Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-South Region team, as voted upon by the region's sports information directors.

Harris was a Second Team honoree as an outfielder.

Earlier this week, Harris was named a First Team All-South Region selection as a Utility Player, and Second Team All-Sunshine State Conference as a Utility Player.

Harris played all 49 games for Saint Leo, and finished the regular season leading both Saint Leo and all of the Sunshine State Conference with a .448 batting average and 99 hits. He ranked fifth and second respectively in those two categories among NCAA Division II statistical leaders at the end of the 2017 regular season.

The Land O' Lakes, Fla., native's 99 hits were the most by a Saint Leo baseball player since Brian Krot's 102 hits during the 1999 campaign. Harris finished the season with 257 career hits, just 14 shy of teammate Alex Mata's career hits record of 271.

Of his 99 hits, 24 were for extra bases including 20 doubles and four home runs. Harris drove in 33 runs while scoring 49 himself. He finished the year with a .593 slugging percentage and a .472 on-base percentage. Harris went 15-for-19 on the base paths in stolen bases this season, moving him to 40 stolen bases in his career.

From February 11 to April 1, Harris recorded a team best 26-game hitting streak before capping off the 2017 campaign with a 13-game hit streak.
