DALLAS, Texas – Senior left-handed pitcher Brandon Terry has been named the National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association Division II South Region Pitcher of the week. The announcement came Wednesday, just two days after Terry was selected as the Sunshine State Conference Pitcher of the Week for his relief shutout appearances against then-No. 9 Lynn University.
Terry recorded two saves to help the Lions win their three-game series over No. 9 Lynn two-games-to-one this past weekend at the Fighting Knights' home field in Boca Raton. In his first save, Terry allowed just five hits and struck out six batters in four innings of work to earn the first save. In 1.2 innings of work in the finale, Terry allowed no hits and struck out one batter to earn his eighth save of the season.
The senior was named the SSC Baseball Pitcher of the Week on Monday, April 21, marking his second SSC Pitcher of the Week recognition this season.
Terry is just the fourth pitcher in the Sunshine State Conference to earn a NCBWA South Region Pitcher of the Week award this year.
The lefty and his squad will get back in action on Friday, April 25 when they head to Florida Southern College for a pivotal Sunshine State Conference series. First pitch for the single game on Friday is set for 6:00 p.m.
