PENSACOLA, Fla. – Four days after going 4-for-4 with a home run to help his team finish off a sweep of Florida Southern, Saint Leo senior first baseman Michael Revell was named the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) South Region Player of the Week, it was announced Wednesday.
The power hitting first baseman from Havana, Fla. led the Lions to four wins, including an SSC series sweep against Florida Southern. Revell batted .667 (10-for-15) with 13 RBI and seven runs. He hit safely in all four contests and tallied multiple hits in three. Revell also blasted six extra-base hits en route to a healthy 1.237 slugging percentage.
In a 19-1 win over FSC in the second game of the series, he went 3-for-4 with three doubles and two RBI. Revell struck again in the series finale, going a perfect 4-for-4 with a home run and a triple to drive home five runs. He concluded his week with a .667 on-base percentage and .971 fielding mark.
Revell finished the year with a .355 batting average with a team-high six home runs and a team-high 48 RBI.
