DADE CITY, Fla.—The Saint Leo University baseball team spent Thursday afternoon at nearby Dade City Little League with 19 local coaches going over some of the fundamentals to teaching the game of baseball.
Head Baseball Coach Sean O'Connor, Assistant Coach Lee Parks, and a handful of players covered the topics of proper throwing mechanics, pitching, hitting, catching, outfield play, as well as practice organization.
"It is great to get out and meet the coaches that are developing our young players in the Pasco County area," O'Connor said. "It is good for our players to go out and teach the game to others. It makes them appreciate the gift that they have. It was a lot of fun and the coaches were asking very good questions. I hope they enjoyed it as much as we did."
The Lions get back on the field this weekend when they welcome Columbus State to Thomas B. Southard Stadium for a three-game series.
